Introduction

In the fast-paced global marketplace of today, businesses aspire to transcend physical boundaries and establish a ubiquitous presence across diverse markets. With advancements in technology and the interconnectedness of economies, the modern business ethos revolves around achieving omnipresence. Companies recognize that success lies not only in local prominence but also in the ability to extend their reach globally. From multinational corporations to small enterprises, the desire to be omnipresent underscores a fundamental shift in strategic thinking. It encompasses the ambition to serve diverse customer bases, tap into emerging opportunities, and adapt to dynamic market landscapes with agility.

Moreover, businesses understand that being present everywhere fosters brand recognition, enhances customer engagement, and fosters sustainable growth in an increasingly competitive environment. Whether it’s through establishing physical branches, leveraging digital platforms, or forging strategic partnerships, the pursuit of omnipresence permeates every aspect of contemporary business strategy. In essence, the drive to be everywhere mirrors the evolving nature of commerce, where success hinges on the ability to navigate seamlessly across borders, cultures, and markets. As businesses continue to embrace globalisation and innovation, the quest for omnipresence remains a defining characteristic of the modern entrepreneurial spirit, shaping the trajectory of industries and economies worldwide.

The Problem

The ever evolving drive to expand and be omnipresent is justified. But this very drive brings its own set of problems. The very first one is managing the books of accounts. Businesses today extensively use Tally as an ERP and accounting management system. Salaries, expenses, incomes, everything is logged into Tally as an official way to manage the business’ finances. But imagine this, if you were to maintain all the information on Tally, how would you make sure your branch in another city is in sync with your home branch’s finances? Moreover, there are also multiple transactions that happen amongst branches, don’t they? In that case, all the entries in your home branch’s accounting system should match all the entries in your other branch’s accounting system. Imagine how taxing it could get to manage just that, manually.

The problem rises even further when you have more than 2 offices nationally or internationally. Sales, expenses, incomes and overheads would become a nightmare for your accounting team. Having separate Tally systems installed with all other branches is simply not an option. It would just add to the misery of the finance team. Was there a solid solution to this problem?

The Vision

To tackle this problem with a solid solution that would put an end to the misery of ambitious businesses, we came together to ideate and visualise the making of a platform. On analysing the problem, it was clear that businesses needed to be supported to maintain books and strengthen their multinational structure when it came to managing finances. Going ahead with this thought as our core, we started working on various wireframes and designs that could sit atop the Tally ERP and enable businesses to access and manage the central accounting system from whichever location in the world.

This gave birth to TallySync. TallySync did not just give access to the central accounting books to businesses, but also performed various other functions that proved to be indispensable for an organisation which was ambitious to expand and grow in scale.

What Was Done

TallySync is a tool for accessing your Tally.ERP 9 data 24*7, making important business reports handy, at your fingertips. It helped you stay connected with your business all the time. We had developed separate applications for PC, Tabs, and Mobile devices. Previously, if you wanted to view Tally data remotely, Tally needed to be up and running on the server, and the client machine had to have Tally installed.

TallySync also provides Web integration with Tally.ERP9 which allows you to use Tally on multiple locations. Some of the major features include:

Support Across Devices

TallySync ensures seamless accessibility across a spectrum of devices, including PCs, mobile phones, and tablets. Each device is equipped with a distinct version of the software, tailored to optimise user experience and functionality. Whether you’re on the go or at your desk, TallySync empowers you to stay connected to your business operations with ease.

Multi-location Flexibility

Gone are the constraints of operating your single-user licence of Tally from a fixed location. With TallySync, you have the freedom to run your Tally software from multiple locations, transcending the limitations of physical premises. This flexibility enables businesses to adapt to evolving work environments and facilitates remote access from anywhere with an internet connection.

Streamlined Company Management

TallySync streamlines company management by synchronising data from multiple entities into a unified platform. Regardless of the number of companies involved, TallySync consolidates all relevant information into a single accessible repository. This consolidation simplifies data management and enhances organisational efficiency.

Policy-based Access Control

  • Admin Access: Administrators wield comprehensive access privileges, enabling them to oversee all aspects of the system.
  • Client Access: Clients are granted access to data specific to their engagement, facilitating direct interaction such as placing sales orders through their designated login credentials.
  • User Access: User access rights are defined and allocated based on individual responsibilities within the organisation.
  • Salesman/Collection Personnel Access: Limited access is provided to designated personnel, ensuring they can only view pertinent data related to their roles.
  • Store Access: Store personnel are granted access to specific operations and settings predefined for their function, ensuring operational integrity and security.

Real-time Reporting

TallySync offers access to crucial Tally reports including Ledger, Day Book, Outstanding, Sales, Purchase, and Stock in real-time, on-demand. This feature empowers users with up-to-date insights into their financial and operational metrics, facilitating informed decision-making and proactive management.

Printing and Mailing Convenience

This feature simplifies access and operation, enabling users to interact with TallySync effortlessly through their web browsers. The intuitive design of the web interface enhances user experience and facilitates efficient navigation and task execution.
